At PreCheck, we value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how Silent Co, LLC collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you use our services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, such as your name, email address, and any images or documents you upload. We also automatically collect information about your device and usage of our services, including IP address, browser type, and browsing behavior through the use of Google Analytics.
PreCheck also indexes images that are publicly available on the internet, such as photos published on public websites and social media pages, together with the address of the page where each was found. Like general-purpose search engines and other online services that let people search the web by image, PreCheck makes publicly available images findable. It does not create those images, and they remain available at their original sources whether or not PreCheck indexes them.
2. Use of Information
We use your information to provide, maintain, and improve our services, as well as to communicate with you and comply with legal obligations. We may also use your data to enhance security and prevent fraud. Additionally, we use Google Analytics to track and analyze user behavior on our site to better understand how our services are used.
3. Sharing of Information
We may share your information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating our services, conducting our business, or serving our users. We ensure that these providers adhere to strict confidentiality and data protection standards.
4. International Data Transfers
Your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside of your home country, including the United States. We ensure that such transfers are conducted in compliance with applicable data protection laws and that adequate safeguards are in place.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. For searches, removal requests, and privacy requests, we keep the following:
- Searches. For searches made from October 6, 2026, our practice is to delete the photo you searched with and its results approximately 30 days after the search. If you delete a search or close your account, it is removed from your account straight away, and our practice is to delete its photo and results from our systems within approximately the same period, and often sooner. We create a face template from your photo only to run the search, and we do not store it.
- The photo you send with a face removal request. We use it only to find and remove matching images from our index. We create a face template from it for that comparison, but we do not store the template. We delete the photo once your request is processed; if you do not confirm your request within 72 hours, when it expires; and in any case within 7 days.
- The record of a request. Your name, email address, the date, what you asked for, technical details such as your IP address, and how we handled the request. We generally keep it for approximately 24 months to show how the request was handled, and then delete it. This applies to face removal requests and to other privacy requests.
- Records of removed images. When a face is removed from our index, we delete its face template and our stored image of it. So that the same photo is not added back, we keep a record of the web address of the photo, where the face was in it, and a digital fingerprint of that part of the photo, together with a technical log showing that the deletion was completed. The fingerprint only matches copies of that same photo. It is not a face template, and it does not recognize anyone in a different photo. We also keep the addresses of the pages where removed faces were found, so that results from those pages are not shown again. We use these records only for these purposes and for nothing else. Deleting them would allow the same photos to be added back, so we keep them for as long as we operate the face index.
- Restricted access. If we restrict someone's access to our services, we keep the email address concerned for as long as the restriction applies.
- Messages you send us. For as long as we need them to handle your message and any related legal matter.
The periods above describe our current practices and are approximate, except the 7-day limit for photos sent with a face removal request. Deletion is carried out by automated processes and may occasionally take longer, for example because of a technical problem, and copies may remain in backup systems for a limited time before they are overwritten. We may also keep information for longer where the law requires or permits it, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We may change these practices from time to time, and will update this policy when we do.
6. Your Rights and Requests
Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights regarding your personal data, such as the right to know what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. Where applicable law gives you such a right, we will handle your request as that law requires.
To make a request, use our removal process: sys.precheck.ai/remove for images of your face, or precheck.ai/removal-request for anything else. A request must give us what we need to verify your identity and to locate the information it concerns, such as a photo of your face, and we may ask for more where needed. We are not required to act on a request we cannot verify, or one that does not let us locate the information it concerns.
Except where applicable law requires us to act, we handle requests at our sole discretion. We may decline a request in whole or in part, including one we cannot verify, one that does not let us locate the information it concerns, or one that is unfounded, excessive, repetitive, or made in bad faith. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, we are not required to give reasons for, or provide documentation of, our decision.
Removal requests are also subject to the removal terms in our Terms of Service. What we keep about a request, and for how long, is set out in Section 5.
7. Security Measures
We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, and misuse. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.
8. Manual Review and Content Responsibility
We may manually review images and content uploaded to PreCheck to ensure compliance with these terms and applicable laws. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the legal right to upload and share such content, and that it does not infringe upon the rights of others. PreCheck is not responsible for the accuracy or legality of user-provided content, nor for any undesired outcomes that may result from the use of our services.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child, we will take steps to delete such information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on our website. Your continued use of our services after the changes have been made constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
